 |
 |
Glendale, CA (January 31, 2007) — Javelin Ventures, a leading developer of professional DVD software, today announced that Sequoyan Media Technology (SMT) has signed an exclusive license of its two quality control applications, Phoenix and Avacuno. Effective immediately, Javelin will assume all responsibility for selling, marketing, developing, supporting and distributing the SMT tools for both domestic and international markets.
“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Javelin to deliver our best-of-breed QC solution to the professional content creation community,” said Thomas Purnell-Fisher, president and founder of SMT. “QC is a critical step in professional title production workflow, and Phoenix and Avacuno are the ideal solutions for ensuring that DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray projects adhere to the vision of the producer with maximum quality and compatibility.”
Phoenix delivers a standard definition DVD quality-control emulator that enables authoring facilities to verify disc navigation, video and audio compression quality, and ancillary information such as closed captions and subtitles, ensuring that discs are produced to the highest standard in the shortest amount of time.
Essential for performing quality control on compressed video streams, Avacuno delivers real-time, reference-quality decoding and playback of all three next generation codecs (AVC, VC-1, and HD MPEG-2) on a single workstation. Offering the cleanest, most accurate, output possible by avoiding graphics accelerators and graphics cards, Avacuno allows compressionists, disc authors and QC personnel at professional production facilities to accurately analyze their HD encodes, identify potential problems, and create higher-quality titles.
“We are thrilled to partner with SMT to deliver a comprehensive solution that addresses two core production segments of the professional DVD workflow: encoding and QC,” said Mark R. Johson, CEO of Javelin Ventures. “We feel that Javelin’s resources can contribute significantly to the development and sales of Phoenix and Avacuno, and will ultimately lead to an increased customer presence around the world.”
